Realising Opportunities Update

Realising Opportunities Update – As part of our Realising Opportunities scheme, organised by our host university, the University of Sussex, our students have already been exposed to a wide range of advice and support for getting prepared for university life.

All students should be in contact with their e-mentor via the Brightside website, and should have already completed the ‘Skills 4 Uni’ module via the RO student portal.

The Academic Assignment – Save the dates!

Day 1 – Tuesday 19 June 2018

Day 2 – Wednesday 27 June 2018

Day 3 – Monday 09 July 2018

On each of the three days, students will depart the academy by coach at 9:30am, complete their day at the University of Sussex, Falmer Campus, and arrive back at the academy at 3pm.

There is no cost to students attending these 3 sessions, and lunch will be provided by the university. RO Students in Year 12 should have completed a reply slip for these events.

Follow us on social media for more updates during the days!

A taste of Icelandic Food at W6!

A taste of Icelandic Food at W6!

Two of our sixth form students, Vitaliy and Filip, are taking over the canteen on Tuesday 24th April at lunch time, giving students and teachers at the academy an insight into Icelandic food.

On the day Vitaliy and Filip will be serving Pylsur and Kleinur, Iceland’s famous hot dog with all the trimmings, and a yummy dessert afterwards. Students are able to purchase this unique meal with their usual student cards operated by Wisepay, and take part in the academy’s celebration of Icelandic cuisine!

We wish Icelandic W6 and SRWA Bears students, Vitaliy and Filip, the very best of luck for feeding the hungry mouths of our students (and teachers)!

Get yourself along to the canteen at lunchtime on Tuesday!

Year 12 & 13 Variety Performance

This Tuesday 27th March 2018, W6 Year 12 & 13 will be leading their variety performance in the academy’s Alan Strong Theatre. A lot of hard work has gone into this, and it would be great to see as many people attend this production as possible!

Tickets are available on-the-door, priced at £3 adults and £2 concessions.

7pm to 8:30pm at SRWA – this is a show not to be missed.

Break a leg sixth formers – we’re all behind you!
